MASAHIRO TATEISHI
A professional artist with a BFA from Brigham Young University, Masahiro specializes in digital and traditional painting and illustration. He also does calligraphy, graphic design, and mural painting. He was born and raised in Sasebo, Japan, next to a beautiful mountain and waterway. He spent his childhood playing in the woods and, at night, falling asleep to the sound of the flowing river. Consequently, he is fond of nature and animals, and that is often reflected in his work.
His art has been used by animal museums and wildlife centers in the USA and Japan. His art also appears in books and learning materials for children. Masahiro has lived in Hawaii and Utah in the USA. He currently lives in Fukuoka, Japan, and he speaks Japanese and English fluently.
1981年生まれ、長崎県佐世保市出身。ブリガム・ヤング大学美術学部卒業。在学中よりフリーのイラストレーターとして活動。幼少より川や森に囲まれた環境の中で育ち動物や自然をモチーフとした作品を手掛けいくつかは九州やアメリカの博物館などで展示中。主なアート作品として禁教時代の日本のキリスト教の殉教者を描いた「信仰の炎」、またイラスト作品としてニューイングランドブックフェア受賞作の「ステップバイステップシリーズ」の中の数多くの挿絵・デザインなどを手掛ける。姪っ子、甥っ子思いのイラストレーター。
